Current music:blissful silence

Favorite things...This is sappy, so just move on :P
So in realization of having a crap-ass week I have decided to make a list of things that make me happy...
Fall.
Big boots.
Big coats. My fuzzy grey sweater. Drinking a good cup of coffee from a good coffee cup. Dark chocolate. Cats lazing about like they own the place. Giving myself permission to read my annual crappy vampire novel. Sorting through music and figuring out what piece will be added to my repertoire and thus shaping me a little more. Making a chocolate cake and sharing it with friends around a roaring fire. Drinking good port with a bite of bitter chocolate. Not wearing a watch.

More later...

Big boots.

Amen.

(Jerome says he doesn't understand why I need four pairs of big black boots. Never mind the fact that he has a similar number of pairs of black boots. :) )

Oh Yes! You're right.
Same goes for shoes.
And shirts
And skirts
And pants...

I would like to also recommend Cherie Priest's "Four and Twenty Blackbirds" as an excellent but creepy little novel worthy of a big sweater and a good cup of coffee on a cold fall night.

Some day, I need to visit you guys in your next of the woods.

Oh, that is too tempting. Let me look at my calendar and schedule a time. Maybe we could make a little party of it. Have Nathan and Eve drive south to my place, then we all carpool down to your place. Chocolate cake and good company is well worth doing.

If not until December, why not plan something for early to mid-October? Maybe the 14th? Do a "good nibbles" party and everyone brings something.

Aigh! I lost my reply somewhere in here! Let me try again...

Yes! Boots!

I'm bored with the pair I've got. I need to replace them with something huge and stompy. With studs and spikes and zips and shit. That'd go real good with my day to day clothes. :)

I'm also doing the repertoirs expansion thing with my violin. I've got piles of old viola music in a box and am slowly working my way up to digging through it. What joy!

Need to go boot shopping!!! Yeah, I'm in serious need of really really playing the piano. Maybe even doing a little open-house recitally thingy. I need something to work on for myself.

A piano/violin duet sounds like a phenomenal idea.

As for boots, I sadly tore the sole off of one of my platforms at DragonCon. So I, too, will be doing some boot shopping soon.

I hope your week improves soon.

Losing boots is sad, but then you get to buy new new new boots!
Thanks! It just got better!

ooooh... LOVELY post. :)
And ehm.... where'd ya' get the 'blissful silence' from and where do I sign up? ;D

We should have a bake-off... only, I don't think I'll/care if I win. I just think it's a good security for TWICE the chocolate. ;D

I was thinking of a "Good Nibbles" party - bring wine, chocolate and/or cheese!

I don't do fondue but I'm SO there. I have a nice dry-ish chocolate torte recipe that goes nice with some merlot or capp! And an EVIL chocolate pie (sort of mousse) recipe too, oooh-ee.

I'm dying to try the cannoli cake recipe I have but I'm too chicken. (That's doesn't count - not choc, but yummers!) :D

That's quite a beautiful list. I may have to steal this idea next time I'm in a frumpy moood. I 100% agree with the "Cats lazing about like they own the place", "Dark Chocolate", and "Not wearing a watch".

I'm all over everything on that list...except the coffee. Coffee bad. **RAALLFFF!!** Boooo coffee, yay chocolate! Save a spot for Mel and me near the fire! We'll bring our 3 chocolate brownies.

You have an annual vampire book too? Which one? I usually pull out one of Anne Rice's books when I'm in a vampirey mood.
